Specialist paediatric care

Gentle care for children — from diagnosis and treatment to recovery, growth and everyday wellness.

The paediatric ward at Mercy Children's Hospital

Our paediatric team looks after children from birth through adolescence — from the first fever to a long-term condition. We assess carefully, explain what we find in plain language, and agree the next step with the person who knows the child best — you.

Our paediatric team sees children from birth through adolescence. Every visit starts with listening — to the child where possible, and to the parent or caregiver who knows them best. We explain what we find in plain language, and we agree the next step together.

What to expect

How a visit works

Four steps, start to finish — so you know what is coming before you arrive.

01

Arrive and register

Give your details at the front desk. Bring any clinic card or previous records if you have them.

02

Assessment

A clinician takes a history, examines your child and asks about feeding and growth.

03

Tests, if needed

Samples go to our own laboratory. Many results come back during the same visit.

04

Treatment and next steps

You leave with a clear plan, any medicines dispensed on site, and a date to come back if one is needed.

Questions

Common questions

What age children do you see?

From newborn through adolescence. If your child needs adult services we will say so and help you find them.

Do I need to book?

The clinic takes walk-ins during opening hours. Booking ahead means a shorter wait for routine reviews.

Can I stay with my child?

Yes. A parent or caregiver stays with the child throughout.
